“I am magic, I know it, I own it, I walk it.”
The mission of Book Club Magic (BCM) is to create a platform that promotes a community of brown and black women, through reading and engaging in discussions about works of literature produced by authors. It’s important for us to read literature by authors that look like us, authors who are addressing pressing social issues in literature that affects us everyday.
Vision Statement
To normalize reading and literacy discourse in the black and brown community as a way of expressiveness and create wellness, by hosting monthly meetings, performing community service, promoting and supporting black owned businesses.
“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”

Yes, starting in January 2021, there will be a membership fee associated with our social/book club, as we are cultivating a unique experience each link up. Our Basic Membership is $10 and for us to meet in person, there will be an additional fee, which is shared (month to month) in our What’s App chat.
How often does the group meet up to discuss readings?
The goal is to meet every 4 - 6 weeks - usually the 1st or 2nd Sunday of the month. Sundays sets the tone of the week ahead. Why not spend it with your dope community of reading sisters?
How are the books selected?
Each and every member's ideas matter. As a member, you have the opportunity to be a part of the book selection process. A week before our next read, the creator would ask the group chat for suggestions. Collectively, the group will vote a total of four to five books selected.
How old do you need to be in order to join the club?
To join our group, you will need to be 21 years of age. We are also only taken referrals until further notice.
